CertainTeed Roofing in La Mirada, CA | Tilecraft Roofing

We provide independent CertainTeed roofing service across La Mirada and nearby communities like CertainTeed in South Whittier, from inspection and repair to full replacement. The one thing that makes our CertainTeed work here different: we know how these products fail on the low-pitch, wide-eave mid-century homes that dominate this city, and we fix them at the source rather than chasing symptoms. Call (833) 467-4846 for a free estimate from a crew that works on CertainTeed systems every week.

La Mirada is a built-out city of 1950s through 1970s tract homes, and most of the CertainTeed roofs we see here are originals or second roofs long past their intended service life. We carry the parts and the know-how that these older systems require. See what we’re doing in the rest of the area: La Mirada service area.

Why La Mirada Residents Choose Us for CertainTeed Service

We learned CertainTeed the hard way, on actual La Mirada roofs rather than in a classroom. Ruben Castellano grew up a few blocks from Hollydale Regional Park, completed the construction technology program at East Los Angeles College, and spent years working roofs across the Southeast LA corridor before building this crew. When we walk a CertainTeed roof in La Mirada, we’re not reading from a catalog. We’re looking at sun damage on the south slope, wind lift at the eave, and the ponding spot every flat section eventually develops.

We are an independent CertainTeed service provider, not manufacturer-authorized, and that independence matters. Our recommendation is based on what your roof actually needs, not what a brand program tells us to sell. Seven leading brands, one crew. CertainTeed is a strong product line, and when it’s the right material for your roof, we’ll say so. When it isn’t, we’ll tell you that too. We look before we quote.

Common CertainTeed Roofing Problems We Solve in La Mirada

  • Granule loss and curling on Landmark shingles. CertainTeed Landmark architectural shingles hold up well on most roofs, but La Mirada’s intense summer UV punishes south-facing slopes. After 15 to 20 years, we routinely find advanced granule loss and curling that leaves the mat exposed and the roof vulnerable. This is the single most common CertainTeed issue we see in La Mirada.
  • Cracked and torn XT 25 three-tabs at the eaves. The original three-tab shingles on 1960s tract homes sit on low-slope sections where thermal movement is constant. Add Santa Ana wind uplift and you get cracking and tearing right at the eave line, usually where the shingle overhangs the gutter. On older La Mirada homes, this failure is almost predictable.
  • Blistering Flintlastic SA membrane at ponding spots. Flat and low-slope sections on La Mirada’s mid-century homes were framed with the technology of their era, and original deck low points collect water after every rain. CertainTeed Flintlastic SA is a solid self-adhered membrane, but standing water at those low spots leads to blistering and seam separation over time.
  • Nail pops and loosening on Presidential Shake. We see Presidential Shake on some of the larger 1970s custom homes in La Mirada. Wood-framed deck movement backs out original fasteners, and the heavy shake-style shingles loosen as a result. A few missing granules are cosmetic. A loose shake shingle is a leak waiting to happen.
  • Fascia rot hidden under wide eave overhangs. La Mirada homes were built with wide eaves that shade the walls but trap debris. When shingles fail at the eave and water tracks backward, the fascia boards behind the shingle line soak in it. We find rot at the same corners year after year, often on homes where the shingles themselves still look acceptable from the curb.

CertainTeed Service in La Mirada: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Roof

Here is the detail most roofing pages miss. Because La Mirada’s 1950s through 1970s tracts were built with low-pitch roof profiles and wide eave overhangs rather than steep suburban gables, the original CertainTeed shingles on those low slopes fail prematurely at the edges where water lingers. The shingle field in the middle of the roof might have five more years in it, but the shingles at the eave, the valley, and the low-slope transition have already given out. That means our CertainTeed repairs in La Mirada focus on edge flashing, eave replacement, and low-slope transitions far more than on field shingles. On a 1962 tract home near Biola Avenue, we found the original CertainTeed XT 25 shingles on the low-slope rear section cracked and curled at the eave, with water tracking into the fascia. We removed the failed shingles, replaced rotten decking, installed a Flintlastic SA membrane over the low-slope area, and finished with new CertainTeed Landmark shingles on the adjacent slopes, stopping a leak that had come back every winter for three years.

A contractor who mostly works newer subdivisions with steep gables might not recognize this pattern. In La Mirada, it’s the rule, not the exception. We fix the edge first because that’s where La Mirada roofs actually fail.

CertainTeed Models & Products We Service in La Mirada

We work on the CertainTeed product lines most common in La Mirada: Landmark architectural shingles, XT 25 three-tab shingles, Flintlastic SA self-adhered membrane, and Presidential Shake on higher-end homes. For replacements, we use CertainTeed OEM shingles and accessories so the system works the way it was designed. For repairs, we source premium aftermarket flashing and sealants that match or exceed OEM performance. That distinction keeps costs reasonable on smaller jobs while preserving system integrity on full replacements. We keep common Landmark colors and Flintlastic membrane on hand for the La Mirada housing stock, so most repair work is done in a single trip. Our crew installs and services products from seven major manufacturers: GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral. That breadth means we’re not pushing one brand. We’re matching the material to your roof. For more on our CertainTeed depth, see CertainTeed sales & service.

CertainTeed Service Pricing in La Mirada

CertainTeed roof work in La Mirada and our Buena Park CertainTeed service area generally runs $225 to $600 for a typical shingle repair, $400 to $1,200 for a flat-roof patch on a Flintlastic or built-up section, and $250 to $850 for flashing repair at the eave, valley, or chimney. Full replacement costs vary widely by square footage and system, but expect roughly $9,000 to $18,000 for a typical 1,400 to 2,200 square foot La Mirada tract home. What drives the number: the roof’s pitch and access, how much decking needs to be replaced, whether the low-slope sections get membrane or shingles, and which CertainTeed line you choose. A Landmark replacement runs less than Presidential Shake, as you’d expect.

Our estimates are free and line-itemed, so you see material cost, labor, and disposal as separate numbers. No change orders because we looked carefully the first time. Call (833) 467-4846 for an exact quote on your CertainTeed roof in La Mirada.
