Owens Corning Roofing in Los Angeles, CA | Tilecraft Roofing

We provide independent Owens Corning roofing service across Los Angeles, from 90030 to 90033 and the older bungalow neighborhoods between, including Echo Park Owens Corning service. The one thing that makes our Owens Corning work different here is the tear-off reality: many Los Angeles roofs carry two or three overlaid layers on 1920s decks, so we spend as much time stripping to the original sheathing as we do laying new shingles. If you need Owens Corning shingle repair or full replacement, call (833) 467-4846 for a free estimate. We’re Tilecraft Roofing, and we’ve worked OC decks across this city long enough to know exactly what the sun does to them.

Why Los Angeles Residents Choose Us for Owens Corning Service

We’re an independent Owens Corning service provider. That’s an important distinction. Nobody at Tilecraft is phoning in a manufacturer script or pushing an authorization badge. What we have is hands-on familiarity: our crews spec and install Duration, Oakridge, WeatherGuard, and Deck Defense on residential roofs throughout Los Angeles, including Owens Corning service in Silver Lake, and we know which courses hold up on a low-pitch bungalow and which ones fight you on a hot tar seam.

Ruben Castellano grew up a few blocks from Hollydale Regional Park and has spent his working life within a few miles of where he was raised. He learned the trade at East Los Angeles College and spent years on residential and commercial roofs across the Southeast LA corridor. That means when we walk a roof in 90032, we’re not sightseeing. We know what the original builders used, what the last three remodelers did on top of it, and how the Santa Ana winds are going to test whatever we install.

When you call us about an Owens Corning roof, the first thing we’ll do is look at it. Not quote it. Looking comes first. That’s how we know whether you need ten shingles replaced or a full tear-off.

Common Owens Corning Roofing Problems We Solve in Los Angeles

  • Adhesive strip and sealant failure on Duration and Oakridge laminates. Los Angeles gets long rainless stretches and brutal UV exposure. The heat bakes the sealant strips until they’re brittle, then the first El Niño storm of the season lifts tabs and drives water under the courses. We see this every year in 90031 and 90032, and it’s almost always on south-facing slopes.
  • Granule loss on early Oakridge 3-tab and older Duration shingles. Low-pitch bungalow roofs in Central LA catch direct sun at a shallow angle, which accelerates surface erosion. When the granules are gone, the mat is exposed, and the shingle is aging fast. We can patch isolated granule loss, but once it’s widespread on a multi-layer deck, patching only buys you one more season.
  • Dried-out sealant and flashing laps at valleys and penetration boots. On pre-1930s Spanish Colonial and Craftsman roofs, the deck itself is often original. The OC shingles are doing their job, but the old underlayment beneath them has dried to paper. That’s the real failure. We strip, inspect, and correct the underlying system rather than slapping shingles over a failed deck.
  • Nail-pop and tab cracking after Santa Ana wind seasons. Post-war stucco tract homes in the 90030 corridor often got original OC installs with too few fasteners for the wind uplift zone. After a few Santa Ana seasons, the tabs crack and the nails back out. Wind didn’t cause it. Inadequate fastening did.
  • Multi-layer tear-off on 1920s bungalows. It’s not a failure mode exactly, but it’s the most common condition we walk into. Two or three overlaid shingle layers over a 100-year-old deck. The OC top course looks tired, but the rot and sag underneath is what actually determines the scope. Stripping to the sheathing is the only way to tell the truth about the roof.

Owens Corning Service in Los Angeles: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s the part that only matters in Los Angeles. In most American cities, a shingle replacement means tearing off one layer and laying new material. Here, in the 90004, 90005, and 90008 bungalow belt, we regularly strip two or three overlaid layers before a new Owens Corning install can go down. That’s a fundamental difference in scope, in labor hours, in debris hauling, and in what we find underneath. The original 1920s deck is often still there, and it’s usually got rot at the eaves and around old plumbing penetrations. So the OC shingle work isn’t the hard part. The hard part is what the last century of shortcuts left behind. After a long dry stretch, the first real storm sends water through months of hairline cracks and dried-out tar seams across those older roofs, and we see the calls flood in on the first rain day. In ZIP 90005 near Owens Corning in Koreatown, we stripped three overlaid layers from a 1921 bungalow whose OC Oakridge top course had lost granules and lifted tabs on the low-pitch rear slope. We replaced rotted decking, corrected the underlayment and valley flashings, installed a new OC architectural laminate course, re-secured the perimeter for Santa Ana wind uplift, and stopped the ceiling leak that had been dripping into the unit below. That’s what Owens Corning work actually looks like in this city. It’s part shingle work, part archaeology, part structural correction.

Owens Corning Models & Products We Service in Los Angeles

We work with the Owens Corning lines that are actually installed on Los Angeles roofs, not just what’s on a spec sheet. Oakridge 3-tab and architectural laminates, Duration and Duration Designer, Supreme and WeatherGuard underlayments, Deck Defense and RhinoRoof synthetics. We match shingle profiles and colorways to the original install rather than substituting whatever is sitting in the yard. When a course is OC, we keep it OC or use an equal-quality component, because the roof has to work as a system, not a patchwork. For parts that need to be ordered, we’re straight about lead time. For the most common OC profiles and accessory components, we keep enough on hand to handle the typical Los Angeles repair. For a full replacement, we order the exact colorway you have, whether that’s a current production shade or something we source from an OC distributor.

Owens Corning Service Pricing in Los Angeles

Repair and replacement pricing in Los Angeles varies by scope, and we don’t fake a number before we’ve seen the roof. A single-tab adhesive strip repair might run a few hundred dollars. A valley or flashing repair runs more. A full tear-off and replacement on a 1,200-square-foot bungalow in 90033 or Owens Corning repair in Hollywood, including debris hauling and new decking where needed, typically lands in the $9,000 to $14,000 range depending on the Owens Corning line you choose and what we find underneath. What drives the cost here more than anything is layers. A three-layer tear-off in 90004 costs genuinely more than a single-layer tear-off because of the labor and disposal volume. That’s a Los Angeles reality, not a markup. Our free estimate includes a walk of the roof, a written line-item scope, and an honest recommendation on repair versus replacement. Call (833) 467-4846 to schedule one.
